Are there going to be microtransactions?

  • the only in-app purchase we’re planning is a $5 one-time purchase to remove ads from the app, nothing else. this will likely be added at some point during the beta. we’re also not planning on adding stuff like “watch this ad to get free cookies” or anything of the sort.

Will the game be released on iOS?

  • yes! but it’ll still be a little while (possibly next year), as the iOS version has several odd issues we need to address first.

The app is slow/choppy.

  • the underlying engine used by the app, Phonegap, doesn’t always perform as great as we’d like; we’re always looking to fix performance issues but there’s a possibility the app will always be a little janky. make sure to check out the settings screen for things to disable!

The app is missing X feature from the browser version.

  • there’s several features we’re planning to add during the beta, such as ascending and all associated features (seasons, perma-upgrades, sugar lumps…); however, some other features are not planned to be ported over, such as the more complex minigames (ie. gardens or the upcoming dungeons)

Does the game keep making cookies when it’s closed?

  • yes! we don’t want players burning through their batteries, so the game has 100% perfect offline idling from the start (unlike in the browser version where this feature is gated behind heavenly upgrades); feel free to close the game and resume it at any time!

Are the saves compatible with the browser version?

  • not at the moment, but we might implement that feature at some point in the future (it’s gonna take some work tho)

When is the next browser version update?

  • soon! now that the mobile app is in public beta, i’ll be focusing on the browser version more and will hopefully announce a playable alpha for the new dungeons minigame at some point later this year. stay tuned!
